Entry Walkway
Lavender and hot pink creeping phlox along with jonquils gladden the hopeful heart.
China Tea Rose
These delicate blooms grab me each spring.
Tulips
Hardy yellow and red tulips are a spring mainstay.
Primrose
Early to bloom when other plants aren't awake.
Grape Hyacinths
Very reliable and don't blow over in our spring winds.
Flagstone Groundcovers
Veronicas blooming among the flagstones. Creeping thyme soon to bloom.
Iceplant
Protected by a rock, this white eyed ice plant beckons.
Driveway Strip
Not very promising at this point, but Dragon's Blood Sedum and California Poppies bloom profusely in this dry strip in the back drive -- most visitors don't even realize it is a driveway.
Iris
Don't mistake my sad Iris display this year for the quality and quantity of gardens around the San Luis Valley. Beats the hell out of me why mine did so poorly.
Gold Dust Alyssum
I'm so glad to see this sprig bloom. Before the hard (dry, warm, windy) winter of 2005-06 I had several of these and this is the only to surrive. I was surprised as it is know to be very hardy.
Icelandic Poppies
A great year for these long blooming beauties. I think the great winter moisture made them better than ever. They will bloom to some extent until late fall.
Front Rock Garden
Early color and small plants give hope to the season ahead.
