Red Container With Annuals
We're trying more containers for color points this summer.
Entry Walk
Snow in summer and lupine line the walk.
Penstemons
Pink and blue penstemons and early daisies are easy care.
Creeping Phlox
Creeping phlox is very drought tolerant once established.
Pink Lilac
This pink lilac in north of a high fence so blooms a bit later than others.
Wild Red Shrub Rose
The vibrant bloom of these roses dresses up the town each summer. Sometimes a single branch will display both red and yellow blooms.
Early Pink Clematis
Blooming against our trellis arch these are a welcome June sight. I hope they'll climb to the top over the years.
Mugo Pine and Sedum
Early yellow and green color. Harrison rose in background.
Sea Pink or Sea Thrift
I finally found a place this will return! In between flagstones on the south side of a rock.
American Wall Flower
Early annual that reseeds gently.
Oriental Poppy
I eagerly await these early, large perennials each summer. Mostly I have them behind lower plants as they get scraggly after blooming.
Low Alpine Asters
Once estalished, these early asters are fairly drought tolerant and form a low mat that stays green all summer and holds down any weeds.
